Alan Taylor (born 1965) is an American director. He has directed extensively for television and has also directed three theatrically-released movies, Palookaville, The Emperor's New Clothes and Kill the Poor. For HBO he has directed episodes of Rome, Deadwood, Carnivale, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos and Sex and the City. His other TV directing credits include Mad Men and Lost.
For Game of Thrones Taylor has directed episodes 9 and 10 of the first season and was the only Season 1 director to return for Season 2, where he directed episodes 1-2, 8 and 10.
