Alik Sakharov (born May 17, 1959) is a Soviet-born director of photography and television director. Born in Tashkent (in present-day Uzbekistan), he moved to the United States in 1981, becoming an American citizen in 1988.

After directing some short films, documentaries and music videos in the 1980s and 1990s, he started working closely with HBO, serving as a director of photography on The Sopranos, Rome (for which he won an Emmy Award) and Sex and the City. He also directed one episode of Rome, as well as some episodes of Brotherhood, Easy Money and Rubicon.

On Game of Thrones Sakharov debuted in the first season, working as a director of photography on four episodes. For the second season, he became a full director, a position he retains in both the third and fourth seasons.[1]
