The Captain of the Archers is an unnamed minor character in the second season. He is played by guest star Michael Grennell and only appears in "Blackwater."

Background

The Captain of the Archers is a man sworn to House Lannister.

Season 2

Joffrey terrified 2x09

Joffrey, Sandor Clegane, and the Captain of the Archers stand on the walls of the Red Keep in "Blackwater".

He commands the archers at the Mud Gate during the Battle of the Blackwater, relaying orders from Tyrion Lannister. He begins volley firing when the forces of King Stannis Baratheon reach the shores of Blackwater Bay. Sandor Clegane threatens the Captain to ensure that his flaming arrows are kept away from him when he leads a sally through the gate. After Sandor retreats the Captain urges his men to fire more quickly. The battle is eventually won when a host of Lannister-Tyrell reinforcements arrive.[1]
