The Civic Guard is the force that protects the city-state of Qarth. They also serve as bodyguards to the members of the Thirteen, the rulers of the city.
Equipment
Members of the Civic Guard wear bronze armor above their torsos. They carry long lances and round shields.
History
Season 2
When Daenerys Targaryen and her khalasar arrive the gates of Qarth, a cadre of Civic Guards appear before them to protect the Thirteen.[1]
The members of the Civic Guard guarding the manse of Xaro Xhoan Daxos are murdered during the robbery of Daenerys' dragons.[2]
In the books
In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, the Civic Guard is commanded by the Pureborn of Qarth. It includes some camelry and works in partnership with the Pureborn fleet.
