Clive Russell (born December 7, 1945 in Reeth, England, UK) is an actor. He was raised in Fife, Scotland and oftens performs with a notable Scottish accent.
He played Ser Brynden Tully in Game of Thrones. He was announced in the role on June 30, 2012. He debuted in Season 3, and returned for Season 6.[1]
Russell's most notable genre credits include playing the villainous Mr. Vandemar in Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere and intimidating comic company owner Damien Knox in the Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson comedy series Spaced.
He has appeared in films including The 13th Warrior, King Arthur, The Wolfman, Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and most recently plays a world weary priest in movie Fighters Ballad. He has also appeared in Casualty, Coronation Street and Cracker (along with fellow Thrones actors Nicholas Blane, Liam Cunningham and Ron Donachie, as well Colin Tierney, the husband of Indira Varma). He is also appearing in the upcoming movie Mary's Ride with former Game of Thrones guest star Ian Hanmore.
