Defender of the Vale is a title in Game of Thrones. The holder is the ruler of The Vale from The Eyrie. As the series begins former holder Jon Arryn has just died and the title has passed to his son Robin Arryn, a child. Robin's mother Lysa Arryn will rule as regent until he comes into his majority. The holder has been a member of House Arryn since the Wars of Conquest.
