At this stage of the war, the seven kingdoms seem to have been almost completely united under Lannister rule. The Westerlands and the Crownlands are both ruled by a Lannister. Joffrey, despite being a bastard born of incest, is also claimed to be a Baratheon. Therefore, he has the allegiance of the Stormlands. His marriage to Margery Tyrell strengthens the Lannister's alliance with the Reach. The Tullys of Riverrun had joined Robb Stark and his cause and have therefore been removed from power. Due to his actions at the red wedding, Lord Walder Frey, lord of the Twins has been given the title of Lord of Riverrun. Despite his title, Lord Walder is now a liege lord of Petyr Baelish, who has been named Lord paramount of the Trident and the lord of Harrenhal for his role in winning the support of Highgarden. Lord Baelish has been sent to the Eyrie to marry Lysa Arryn, thus securing the allegiance of the Vale to the crown. The Martells of Sunspear have bad blood between them and the Lannisters due to the events in the aftermath of Robert's rebellion. However, when He served as acting Hand of the king,Tyrion Lannister arranged a marriage between the king's sister, Myrcella Baratheon, and Trystane Martell. Therefore, Dorne didn't take up arms against the crown, but they didn't fight it's enemies either. Tywin Lannister has arranged another marriage between Tyrion and Sansa Stark, who is a hostage in King's Landing. All the Stark men are presumed dead and Sansa is now the heir to Winterfell. If she and Tyrion get a son, then the new Lord of Winterfell will be half a Lannister and half a Stark. Thus gaining the allegiance of the Northern lords for Sansa's sake and ensuring The North won't revolt against the crown ever again. Until this child comes of age, Roose Bolton, Lord of the Dreadfort, has been named Warden of the North. He too played an important role in Robb Stark's murder. Even at the wall the Lannisters seem to have control in the form of Janos Slynt. It would seem that the war is all but won for the Lannisters. But out of five kings, three still remain. The seven kindoms are only united because of the brilliant leadership displayed by Tywin Lannister, the Hand of the king. Anti-Lannister sentiment has been spread throughout Westeros and every house has it's own agenda. But there are still foes from outside aswell. The Iron Islands remain in open rebellion and the Ironborn still hold a large part of the North, including the castles of Deepwood Motte, Torrhen's square and most importantly Moat Cailin, the gateway to the North. The host of Boltons and Freys under Roose Bolton cannot enter the North whilst the Ironborn hold this castle. Bolton's bastard, Ramsay Snow is leading another force from the Dreadfort to attack Moat Cailin from the North while Roose's host attacks from the South. Then they will root out the remaining Ironborn from the North and drive them back into the sea. Stannis Baratheon, Lord of Dragonstone, has suffered a large defeat at the battle of Blackwater bay in which he lost most of his ships and nearly all of the bannermen he took from his brother, Renly Baratheon. He meant to take King's Landing but the cunning defence by Tyrion Lannister with the chain and the wildfire prevented him from doing so. Tyrion also managed to keep the Baratheon forces at bay until his father arrived with a combined Lannister/ Tyrell army. Even though he is facing overwhelming odds, Stannis won't give up. He still holds firm to his right that the throne is his and that all those who deny it are nothing buttraitors and will be dealt with as such. Stannis's troops still hold Dragonstone and Storm's End. He has very few men and is no match against the combined strength of Casterly Rock, Highgarden and Sunspear. However, Ser Davos Seaworth reminded Stannis of his duty when all he think of was his rights. He had been trying to become king to save the realm, when he should have been saving the realm to become king.
