Am I missing a checkbox or preference that would put a gray background behind the text when I'm using the editor? On my view the gray background is missing from the text area, and it is almost impossible to read the white text on top of the background image.
I'm using Firefox on a PC but the same thing seems to happen on Chrome and IE.
It is an unfortunate bug with the visual editor. You can switch to source mode using the tab in the dark red header while editing or by changing your settings in Special:Preferences. The problem with the visual editor stems from the background.--Gonzalo84 19:13, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
I have hated and rejected the "Visual Editor" since the moment it was invented. I exclusively use the Source Mode for editing, its just easier when you can see everything you're doing and not relying on the estimates of Visual Mode.--The Dragon Demands 19:25, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
- I've hated it as well. I had an editor last night stop by and complain about it- so much so, he didn't even bother to edit. It is definitely a problem. --QueenBuffy 19:32, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
Maybe its time to change backgrounds again. I've grown used to black and orange scheme but the previous "wintery" one was more comfortable to the eyes.--Gonzalo84 19:54, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
- Have to concur with Conzalo84. --QueenBuffy 20:05, June 4, 2012 (UTC)
