Just curious, has anyone done an in-depth thread about the some of the obvious correlations between real history and the some of the Characters, events, places, etc.. in GOT?  I don't mean the obvious similarities from Brit history, but others.   Just a few I've noticed:  r

1.  The Lannister use of "Greek Fire" during the siege.

2.  Bravos is said to have a Titan over the harbor, thus obviously it's meant to be equated to Rhodes in some way.

3.  The Dothraki are clearly based on the Mongol Golden Horde.

I can think of at least 50 more , but I assume there  is an exhaustive thread of page somewhere already.  Can anyone direct me to it?

No replies?  I suggest that you visit the "A Song of Ice and Fire" wikia pages.  Your question feels more book related than TV series related.  For my two cents worth, I think Westeros looks like Great Britain, and there once was an actual wall built across Britain to keep out northern invaders. There were no replies because you wrote ABOVE the header when you should've written BELOW the header. Use "source mode" to edit.--Gonzalo84 (talk) 19:46, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
