Gerald is a minor character in the second season. He is played by guest star Ken Fletcher and only appears in the "What is Dead May Never Die."
Biography
Season 2
He is a groom in the army of King Renly Baratheon. He was injured by a horse but recovered well. Renly greets him when he takes Catelyn Stark on a tour of his camp in the Stormlands.[1]

In the books
In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, there is no equivalent character. The only character by that name is Ser Gerald Gower, a knight in service to Stannis Baratheon whose role in the books is very minor.
