Hannah Murray (born 1 July 1989) is a British actress. In Game of Thrones she plays Gilly, one of Craster's many daughters. She was confirmed in the role on August 8, 2011. She joined the cast as a guest star in the second season.

She is also known for her starring role as Cassie in the first, second, and the final season of the critically acclaimed British series Skins.

To prepare for the role, executive producers Benioff and Weiss advised her to read up on the case of Austrian Josef Fritzl, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2009 after keeping his daughter captive for 24 years.[1]
