Ser Harlan Grandison was a knight of House Grandison and a member of the Kingsguard.

Background[]

Ser Harlan was a member of House Grandison who served in the Kingsguard of King Aerys II Targaryen. He took part in a tourney at Bitterbridge as a mystery knight, but was defeated and unmasked by Gwayne Gaunt.^[1]^[a]

Game of Thrones: Season 8[]

Harlan is mentioned under the entry of Ser Arthur Dayne,^[a] in the Book of Brothers, which the new Lord Commander of the Kingsguard Brienne of Tarth was flicking through.^[1]

In the books[]

In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Harlan was a member of the Kingsguard who served until the reign of Aerys II. He was an old man and died in his sleep in 281 AC, being replaced by Jaime.
