Template:Noble house House Blackfyre was a cadet branch of House Targaryen, founded by Daemon Blackfyre, the bastard of King Aegon IV Targaryen, following his legitimization. House Blackfyre is named for the family's ancestral sword of the same name. Their sigil was a black three-headed dragon on red, the reversal of the Targaryen crest.[1]
House Blackfyre is infamous for their repeated and unsuccessful attempts to overthrow the Targaryen dynasty in a series of conflicts collectively known as the "Blackfyre Rebellions".
