Ian Beattie is an Irish actor. He is best-known for playing the role of Antigonus in Oliver Stone's movie Alexander, and has also appeared in The Tudors, Mo and Space Truckers.
In Game of Thrones he is playing Ser Meryn Trant, a knight of the Kingsguard. He was announced in the role on 14 October 2010.
