"The North Grove...beneath the watchful eye of the Ice Dragon."
Gregor Forrester[src]

The Ice Dragon is a constellation named after the legendary creature.

HistoryEdit

"The Sword in the Darkness"Edit

Duncan Tuttle delivers some ironwood to Castle Black and gives his nephew Gared a map that belonged to Lord Gregor Forrester that seems to show how to find the North Grove. Gregor has written on the map that the North Grove is located "beneath the watchful eye of the Ice Dragon".[1]

"The Ice Dragon"Edit

Gared climes a tree in the Haunted Forest and sees the constellation, realising that it leads to the North Grove, where his half-siblings are.[2]

In the booksEdit

In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, the Ice Dragon is constellation of stars in the skies of Westeros. Its blue eye points north and its tail leads south.

Bran Stark and his companion often follow the eye Ice Dragon to find their way after getting lost on the way to the Wall, a direction given by Osha. Samwell Tarly and Gilly follow the tail as they travel to the Wall from Craster's Keep.

The night before the wildlings climb the Wall, Jon Snow searches for Ghost and looks to the stars. He thinks that he is old friends with the Ice Dragon, remembering stories that Old Nan told him as a child.
