Jacks is a recurring character in the first and second seasons. He is played by guest star Paul Caddell and debuts in the series premiere. Jacks is a guardsman sworn to House Stark fighting for King Robb Stark in the War of the Five Kings.
Biography
Season 2
He alerts Catelyn Stark to the recapture of Ser Jaime Lannister, clashing with her sworn sword Brienne over entering her tent unannounced. He then accompanies Catelyn as she confronts Lord Rickard Karstark and convinces him to await the return of King Robb Stark for justice for Jaime's murder of Torrhen Karstark.[1]

In the books
In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Jacks is a similar minor character. He is one of the guards who accompany Eddard Stark to King's Landing. He is one of the few survivors of the massacre of the Stark household after Ned's arrest. He is later released to accompany Eddard's remains north.
