Kristofer Hivju (December 7, 1978) is an actor based in Norway.
In Game of Thrones he plays Tormund Giantsbane. He was announced as a guest star in the third season at San Diego Comic-Con 2012.[1]
Hivju is the first Norwegian to appear on the show (Amrita Acharia was a resident in Norway, but she moved there when she was thirteen years old, and is of half-Ukrainian, half-Nepalese descent).
He has also appeared in Størst av alt (2007), Flax (2008), Manhunt (2008), and The Thing (2011).
The role was announced in May 2012.[2] Kristofer Hivju was confirmed in the role in July 2012.[1]
