Kristofer Hivju (December 7, 1978) is an actor based in Norway.
In Game of Thrones he plays Tormund Giantsbane. He was announced as a guest star in the third season at San Diego Comic-Con 2012.[1]
Hivju is the first Norwegian to appear on the show (Amrita Acharia was a resident in Norway, but she moved there when she was thirteen years old, and is of half-Ukrainian, half-Nepalese descent).
Now that Norway finally got HBO Nordic, and also got a big local hype around Hivju there is a belief that less Norwegians will download the show (pay the Iron price) from piratebay, a thing most Scandinavians do (due to their Viking heritage), and instead actually support the show, now that it's finally available for watching legally for watching when the episode premieres on HBO.
He has also appeared in Størst av alt (2007), Flax (2008), Manhunt (2008), and The Thing (2011).
