A map showing the location of Long Table on the continent of Westeros.
Long Table is a castle in the Reach, the region controlled by House Tyrell of Highgarden. The castle is located at the meeting of the Mander and the Blueburn rivers.[1]
In the books
In the Song of Ice and Fire novels Long Table is spelled "Longtable". It is the seat of House Merryweather. House Merryweather are notable for providing one of the Hands of the King under Aerys II Targaryen, the Mad King. Lord Owen Merryweather was the Hand when Robert's Rebellion began, but did not take the threat seriously. For his laxity, Aerys stripped him of his lands and sent him into exile. After taking the Iron Throne, Robert Baratheon restored some of the lands to Owen's heirs, including Longtable. The current lord of the house, Orton, is married to the Lady Taena of the Free City of Myr.
