She appeared regularly on television and in film since 1960 and has appeared in series such as Coronation Street, Z Cars and Dixon of Dock Green. Her genre credits include two appearances in Doctor Who (once in 1968 and again in 2005) and roles in Blake's 7 and Doomwatch.
