In the books

In the Song of Ice and Fire novels, Masha Heddle is a middle-aged fat woman, whose teeth have been turned blood-red due to her addiction to sourleaf. She has run the Crossroads Inn for more than twenty years.

After Tyrion's capture, Lord Tywin Lannister's army camps around the Crossroads Inn. Tywin hangs Masha from a gibbet for letting Tyrion be apprehended in her establishment. In the TV series, Tywin's army camps elsewhere and Masha presumably survives.
