- ―Anguy to Sandor Clegane
The Mummer's Ford[1] is a town in the Riverlands, the region controlled by House Frey of the Twins.
History
Game of Thrones: Season 1
After receiving reports about raiding in the Riverlands, committed by the Mountain, Eddard Stark sends against him a force of 100 men under the command of Lord Beric Dondarrion.[2] The subsequent encounter, known as Battle at the Mummer's Ford, ends in victory for the Lannisters, and leads to the formation of the Brotherhood Without Banners by Beric and the survivors.[3]
In the books
In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Mummer's Ford is so named because it is on a ford across the Red Fork of the Trident.
