Mya Stone[a] is a bastard daughter of Robert I Baratheon.

In the books[]

In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Mya is Robert's eldest child, being around seventeen or eighteen years old at the start of the War of the Five Kings. Robert fathered her on a commoner[1] while he was Jon Arryn's ward at the Eyrie.[2] Mya's birth caused Lyanna Stark to become unenthusiastic about her betrothal to Robert.[3]

Mya is described as a wiry girl, with dark hair cropped short and straight around her head, wearing riding leathers and a light shirt of silvered ringmail. Her eyes are her best feature, big and blue.[4][5]

Mya lives at the Gates of the Moon, where she trains mules and transports food to the Eyrie.[4] Robert had wanted to invite Mya to live in the Red Keep, but Cersei's veiled threat that she would harm her prevented him from doing so.[6]

Mya assists Catelyn on her ascent to the Eyrie. She tells her that she hopes to marry Mychel Redfort, but Catelyn quietly pities her and thinks to herself that it is unlikely that a descendant of First Men nobility would marry a bastard.[4] Mychel is later commanded by his father to marry Ysilla Royce,[5] ending his relationship with Mya.[7]

Mya assists "Alayne Stone" and Robert Arryn on their descent to the Gates of the Moon.[5] She attends the tournament for the Brotherhood of Winged Knights.[7]

Alayne notices that Lothor Brune is fond of Mya, and muses that Brune would be a good match for her.[5]

Mya is the only known exception to the rule about bastards' special surname: although Robert has never acknowledged her, she is referred to as Mya Stone.
