Peter Dinklage (born 11 June 1969) is an American actor who has worked in television, film and on stage. He is arguably best known for his roles in The Station Agent, the Chronicles of Narnia film series and as a series regular on Threshold and Nip/Tuck. He starred in the British (2007) and American (2010) versions of the movie Death at a Funeral.

He stars in HBO's Game of Thrones as Tyrion Lannister. He was announced in the role on 5 May 2009 and was the first actor confirmed for the series. He was George R.R. Martin, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss' first and only choice for the role of Tyrion. He was part of the initial starring cast and was the last credited cast member, receiving the "and" modifier throughout the first season. He remains a member of the starring cast for the second season and is now top billed. In July 2011, Dinklage was nominated for an Emmy Award as Best Supporting Character in a drama series for his work on Thrones.[1] He went on to win the award at the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony in September.[2][3]

On 15 January 2012, Dinklage won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Golden Globe Awards for his role as Tyrion Lannister.[4]

On 14 February 2013, Dinklage was officially confirmed to have joined the cast of upcoming superhero movie X-Men: Days of Future Past.[5] Although online news outlets were quick to assert that Dinklage would be portraying Puck - a character, that, despite his small stature possess immense physical strength - entertainment magazine Variety (citing inside sources) claim that Dinklage will, in fact, be portraying the film's main antagonist.[6]
