Qhorwyn was a shrewd king who avoided war and instead gathered wealth during his reign. He tripled the size of the Hoare fleets and ordered the creation of additional weaponry to dissuade enemies from attacking. Qhorwyn's eldest son died of greyscale and his middle son, Prince Harlan, died after falling from a horse while Qhorwyn was lying ill. After Qhorwyn's death, his third son and successor Harwyn Hardhand conquered the riverlands using his father's strengthened military.
