Ser Raymun Fossoway[a] was the founder of House Fossoway of New Barrel.
Biography[]
Raymun fought his cousin Steffon in the trial by seven of Duncan the Tall.[1]
In the books[]
In the Dunk & Egg novellas, Raymun is the squire of his cousin Steffon Fossoway. He is stocky and square-faced, with short wooly hair.
In 209 AC, Raymun attended the tourney at Ashford Meadow, where he befriended Ser Duncan the Tall. He supported Duncan in his trial of seven after Steffon betrayed the accused for a lordship. Shortly before the trial, he was knighted by Ser Lyonel Baratheon and painted the apple on his shield green to avoid confusion with his cousin on the other side of the battle.
At some point later in his life, Raymun was granted the castle New Barrel in the Reach, and his line was recognized as the cadet branch House Fossoway of New Barrel, also known as the "green-apple Fossoways."
