Runestone is a castle in the Vale of Arryn. It is the seat of House Royce, a vassal house holding fealty to House Arryn of the Eyrie. The castle is located east of the Eyrie, on the coast of the Narrow Sea. It is north of the city port of Gulltown.[1][2]

In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, Runestone is the stronghold of the famous Lord 'Bronze' Yohn Royce, a mighty warrior noted for his loyalty to the late Lord Jon Arryn.
Runestone is the home of Ser Waymar Royce, a young knight who joined the Night's Watch but was slain beyond the Wall by the Others, kicking off the events of both the books and TV series.
