It seems to me that episode 9 of a season is the climax. Season 1 episode 9 had Ned getting killed off, Season 2 episode 9 had the Battle of the Blackwater. But I'm not yet sure how they're dividing up book 3 for seasons 3 and 4, so it could be in episode 9 or 10. I hope it's 9, though.
