Steelshanks is a recurring character who debuts in the third season. He is portrayed by Jamie Michie.
Biography
Background
Steelshanks is a Northern man-at-arms sworn to House Bolton and fighting for his liege lord in the War of the Five Kings.
Season 3
Lord Roose Bolton charges Steelshanks with escorting Jaime Lannister safely back to King's Landing. When Jaime decides to return to Harrenhal to save Brienne from Locke, he forces Steelshanks to accompany him by threatening to dishonestly tell Tywin Lannister that Steelshanks is responsible for Jaime's missing hand.[1]

In the books
In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, "Steelshanks" Walton is a man-at-arms sworn to House Bolton. He serves Roose Bolton as his captain. He got his nickname from the steel greaves he wears over his long legs. According to Jaime, Walton is blunt, brusque, brutal, at heart a simple soldier.
