Summerhall is a ruined castle in the Stormlands, near the borders of both the Reach and Dorne. It was formerly the summer palace of House Targaryen and the third and newest of the strongholds of that house, after Dragonstone and the Red Keep of King's Landing.[1]
Summerhall was destroyed by fire approximately forty years before the events of the series begin. The fire killed both Aegon V Targaryen and his heir and is rumored to have been caused by an attempt to hatch dragon eggs.[1]

Robert Baratheon killed his first man during the Battle of Summerhall, a soldier of House Tarly, during Robert's Rebellion.[2]
