How do you know if its the north or south side?--The Dragon Demands 23:36, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
Because of its position relative to the shore. The city projects east into Blackwater Bay.--Opark 77 23:43, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
- But the south side of the Red Keep is on the side of KL that borders the river; what could be south of it? (I'm not arguing, its just difficult for my mind to get around the 3 dimensional panoramic view of the city). While I'm on the subject, maps do exist for King's Landing in the books. Should we try using maps on the King's Landing page, considering how much action happens there in the TV show?--The Dragon Demands 00:08, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
The land south of the river is south of the city too. Regarding maps, we could include one in the "In the books" section.--Opark 77 06:54, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
- We could juxtapose it with the map Tyrion was reading over that had a good picture of the "Mud Gate" on it; I do think the one they used on-screen was a copy of the one from the books.--The Dragon Demands 07:01, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Across different articles it isn't very clear who built the Red Keep as they contain a few apparent contradictions or that there's just a lack of clarity. It says on this page the founder is Maegor the Cruel, but the quote says Aegon build the red castle. On Aegon's page it says "Aegon founded the city of King's Landing, built the Red Keep, and forged the Iron Throne" and on Maegor's page it says "He had the Red Keep built during his reign".
Pretty sure this is just a wording issue and that the construction of the Red Keep was started by Aegon and finished by Maegor, as it says in the books section that "The construction of the Keep was an immense undertaking, spanning the reign of the first few Targaryen kings" but wanted to make sure this was the case before I changed anything. - Son Of Fire (talk) 09:29, August 13, 2014 (UTC)
Word issue, as you say. Please help. Aegon began construction of the Red Keep, and planned out much of it, but it took decades to finish and construction only ended with Maegor. Septa Mordane outright states to Sansa in dialogue in Season 1 that Aegon I made the Iron Throne, and Maegor the Cruel finished the Red Keep.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 17:34, August 13, 2014 (UTC)
