Was Rhaego born in Lhazar, the southern Dothraki Sea, or the edge of the Red Waste? (or near all three?)--The Dragon Demands (talk) 04:42, January 23, 2014 (UTC)
If I recall correctly, after raiding Mirri Maz Duur's village, Drogo and the khalasar were on their way southwest to Slaver's Bay. Daenerys ventures into the Red Waste only because of the comet. That's why I Rhaego couldn't have been born on the Dothraki Sea: Lhazar lies between Slaver's Bay and the Dothraki Sea.--Gonzalo84 (talk) 15:43, January 23, 2014 (UTC)
I thought they mentioned it somewhere in the books - well they're in the borderlands. The Dragons were "born on the edge of the Dothraki Sea" etc. Accepting that Rhaego was born in Lhazar, I still think it would confuse casual TV-first viewers given that he isn't actually "from" Lhazar, he was stillborn there (which of course makes this academic).
Speaking of which, given that Daenerys was born on Dragonstone a matter of weeks or days before fleeing to the Free Cities, and grew up in the Free Cities, where do we say she is "from"? Both?--The Dragon Demands (talk) 15:55, January 23, 2014 (UTC)
Daenerys? Both from the Crownlands and the Free Cities I guess. As for Rhaego, thankfully we also have the "Dothraki" category.--Gonzalo84 (talk) 16:03, January 23, 2014 (UTC)
