Apparently Wikia's anti-nudity rules are stricter than even we thought. We'll need to work around this by cropping pictures. Apparently you can't show behind-al nudity either.--[[User:The Dragon Demands|The Dragon Demands]] ([[User talk:The Dragon Demands|talk]]) 20:49, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Revision as of 20:49, 30 October 2014

I was working on my own version of this, but my attention is divided between five different tasks.  Thankfully I'm finally catching up on the "to do" list.

I have actually taken medieval history courses on "Medieval Women", and read a few books on medieval sexuality/gender.  I didn't major in it, and I know only a quarter of all there is on the topic (if that) but I intend to bring up some more broad stuff, with citations to academic work.

I want to lock this page to Admin-only until we get it sorted out, because otherwise it is a lightning rod for vandalism.  --The Dragon Demands (talk) 21:42, August 17, 2014 (UTC)

Image deletion, and "Terms of Use"

Okay, so I've just noticed that a member of Wikia's staff has deleted two of the images from this article, citing "Terms of Use" violation as the reason... presumably deeming them "pornographic". However, these images did not show exposed female nipples, exposed male genitals, or exposed female pubic "area", or sexual acts of any kind. Unless Wikia considers kissing a sexual act, in which case there's no hope... no hope at all. The aforementioned qualifiers is how Wikia dictates which images are considered "obscene or pornographic", so what was the problem here? Did a particularly prudish staff member just have a knee-jerk reaction to these images, and delete them without thinking?--Ser Patrek, the Wolfskinner File:Ser Patrek mini shield.png 08:03, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

...where did you even see a reason such as "Terms of use" listed? The file's history page is a blank, nor does it show up in the deletion log.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 15:31, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

I just clicked on the red link left by the images deletion. The file's history is certainly there when I did so, showing the following: " 19:05, September 4, 2014 Ducksoup (Talk | contribs | block) deleted page File:Oberyn, Ellaria, and Marei.jpg (Violation of Wikia's Terms of Use)".--Ser Patrek, the Wolfskinner File:Ser Patrek mini shield.png 16:17, October 30, 2014 (UTC)
