- The King's Justice (and/or Queen's Justice) is the title held by the royal executioner. Their duty is to kill anyone condemned by the King, the Hand of the King, or the Small Council, usually by public beheading. The term can also be used broadly to refer to the judicial authority of the King and the "law of the land".
- The episode's description 'Cersei returns a gift', may refer to when Ellaria Sand sent her a "gift" in the fifth season of a dead viper in a box, as a threat against her daughter Myrcella. She later poisoned her.
- Cersei could also be returning Euron Greyjoy's "gift", which was promised to her in exchange for her engagement to him. As of the events of "Stormborn," it is assumed that this gift is Ellaria Sand and her daughter, Tyene Sand.
