There has been so much blood and civil war in Westeros lately that made me wonder what started all of this? The bloodshed began with the rebellion of Robert Baratheon. However it was not only the Mad King's action that lead to the uprising of the Houses. Before that was the kidnapping of Lyanna Stark by Rhaegar Targaryen. I have not read the books but it seems that the heir to the Iron Throne was just and kind. Furthermore, since there never really was an explanation to his deed, the abduction, I have come to the conclusion that Lyanna and Rhaegar fell in love with each other during the great tourney at Harrenhal and he took her away because she was betrothed. So perhaps it was true love that began this war?
