I've been working on updating the wiki with all information from the HBO viewers guide website for some time now and have kind of stalled. I am going to break the goal down into some more simple tasks here and thought I may as well make the list public in case anyone else wanted to help out. My goal is to read the viewers guide, list the information it contains and ensure we have referenced articles about any topic it covers.

My first step is going to be to break down the viewers guide into pages. I will first record any url from the viewers guide and then make sure we have an article where the information is useful. I'll then go through the viewers guide entries looking for mentions of other subjects for the wiki (e.g. place names in the s…

    Screencaps wanted

    May 23, 2012 by Opark 77

Here ye, here ye! The wiki is in need of intrepid editors to undertake a quest. We need more screencaps. We would like to illustrate our recap articles with one screencap for each scene of the episode. Earn your illustrator badge by helping out. Take a look at The Prince of Winterfell recap for an example of a nicely illustrated recap article thanks to Davidlynchfan and Mesmermann. Take a look at The Old Gods and the New recap for an example of one that still needs your help.

Please could all participants make sure they are familiar with our image policy. For each image that we use we need to ensure that we have the following information on the image page, all of which should be added by the uploader at the point of upload:

    1. The…

This week I’ve actually found the time to engage my critical faculties as well as just striving to keep us up to date with the latest episode (although there is still some work to do on it I’m satisfied that we’ve achieved the basics). I am pleased to be able to synthesise some of my thoughts and reactions on the latest episode into a review of sorts. I’ve read the books and can’t help comparing so there are some minor spoilers from the books below.

“Garden of Bones” is a pretty grim piece of television between Joffrey’s sadism, the torture of the prisoner’s at Harrenhal and the focus on the realities of war. Of course a similar tone is often found in the source material. I think the adaptation is maintaining its high quality and an appropr…

I’m rewatching Game of Thrones Season 1 in anticipation of Season 2 beginning April 1 2012. This is the tenth post in this series and covers the season finale "Fire and Blood". As before spoilers for the whole of season 1 and the book A Game of Thrones will follow so please don’t continue if you haven’t watched the whole first season. I will avoid spoilers from later in the book series though so if you are only watching the show have no fear that I will spoil events still to come in the adaptation.

    The earlier posts are:

    1. "Winter is Coming"
    2. "The Kingsroad"
    3. "Lord Snow"
    4. "Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things"
    5. "The Wolf and the Lion"
    6. "A Golden Crown"
    7. "You Win or You Die"
    8. "The Pointy End"
    9. "Baelor"

Such a gruesome opening image; the greatsword Ice dripping b…
