Peter Dinklage Emmy

The victorious Dinklage.

At the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards last night, Peter Dinklage won the Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Drama Series for his role as Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones. Dinklage was not considered a likely win, ranked the fourth-most-likely candidate to win with odds of 40/1 against. However, he secured the win handily, thanking his dog-sitter and wife in his acceptance speech.

Game of Thrones was nominated in several other categories, securing an additional win in the Creative Emmys for Best Title Design, but no awards in the Best Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series (David Benioff & Dan Weiss) or Outstanding Direction for a Drama Series (Tim Van Patten for Winter is Coming).
