Hi, welcome to Game of Thrones Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Ros page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- Werthead (Talk) 23:26, May 12, 2011

now we have THIS show in common too!?!??! STOP IT! ;) lol Buffymybasset 00:36, May 13, 2011 (UTC)

House Bolton banner

Good job finding the House Bolton banner. I wonder where you picked up the image?--Opark 77 13:56, February 9, 2012 (UTC)

Found it on I don't know if its fanmade or not. I just saw its the same as the Bolton banner in the HBO map.--Gonzalo84 14:54, February 9, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply.--Opark 77 15:21, February 9, 2012 (UTC)

Lead, Biograpy and Background sections for characters

I have been considering restructuring the character articles and have posted my ideas in the forum. I would really appreciate your thoughts.--Opark 77 15:03, February 9, 2012 (UTC)

Vassal House categories

I started a forum discussion about this as we seem to disagree on how to handle it. I'd really appreciate your input there.--Opark 77 01:22, March 8, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me know. I saw your post (the one while accidentally logged out) and replied to that one. I hope that someone else will comment as we clearly disagree on the issue so we need to seek the consensus of the other editors here to decide how to handle it.--Opark 77 19:06, March 9, 2012 (UTC)

Articles with conjectural titles

I think that is eminently sensible. We should be consistent. The only thing about Wode is that he survived the journey while the Knight of House Whent in the show does not. He is still a clear fit in the Inn at the Crossroads scene and the difference is already noted in the "In the books" section so that would work. Kurleket is a definite fit.--Opark 77 19:46, March 10, 2012 (UTC)

Categorize noble houses by region

Its an interesting idea. Would it be duplication as we already categorize them by their Lords Paramount? I suppose the Lords Paramount are less constant then the regions so we would be better off using the regions so go ahead.--Opark 77 20:57, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

Good work getting these all done.--Opark 77 17:32, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

Use of images

As one of our active editors I wonder if you could help me by giving an opinion about the way we use images on the forum.--Opark 77 11:03, March 18, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you.--Opark 77 20:16, March 18, 2012 (UTC)

House navboxes

Thank you. I agree about the Baratheon branches and had been meaning to reply to your post suggesting separation of the main article into its component cadet branches saying that it was a good idea. About vassals - I didn't fully grasp what it meant and having looked it up I agree that the Riverlords do count, however it is difficult to establish who was there other than House Bracken.--Opark 77 17:40, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

They can be updated just like an article so we just update them when status changes.--Opark 77 17:43, March 20, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your help and good job on the Baratheon cadet branches.--Opark 77 19:42, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

Listing the Kingsguard in Template:King's Landing Baratheon navbox made me think again about whether we should make articles for them. We have listed them in our Kingsguard article for some time. Preston Greenfield has had an article for some time too. In the scene of Eddard's arrest we see the six of them without Jaime all in one place (and again at Selmy's dismissal) so we can extrapolate their appearance on screen. What do you think?--Opark 77 19:42, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

I agree... I think we could and when certain "rioty" scene comes along I hope we can discern who is Preston Greenfield. And while we are at it... do we have a fragment that would let us discern or at least "speculate" who is the Kingsguard that greets the King in episode two? --Gonzalo84 20:46, March 20, 2012 (UTC)
I think I can discern Preston at the Tourney of the Hand - he is noticeably shorter than his sworn brother as the Mountain pushes past them! Do you mean the chap who is stood next to Cersei during the "trial" of Arya at the end? Great job on the navbox for them. I have an icon from the viewer's guide I think.--Opark 77 22:06, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

The icon: File:Kingsguard icon.jpg

The unnamed member: File:Kingsguard 1.jpg --Opark 77 22:20, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

I think I might have been unclear. I meant in the show there is a moment after the King ends Sandor and Gregor's duel where the Mountain throws down his sword and stalks off. He walks past two members of the Kingsguard and one of them is noticeably shorter than the other. In the book Ser Preston is hardly mentioned as you rightly point out but in A Clash of Kings he is described as the shortest member of the Kingsguard. Knowing that this moment in the show made me think of him.

I don't think he is the member at Arya's interrogation in "The Kingsroad" - in fact another member of the Kingsguard brings Sansa into that meeting and appears to be shorter than her so I again thought of Preston. He is only seen among the crowd and I could not get a decent image of him though.

Is the image I posted the one you meant from episode 2? --Opark 77 09:37, March 21, 2012 (UTC)

Yep--Gonzalo84 15:30, March 21, 2012 (UTC)

The new egg poster led to User:XD1 creating a new example, the poll unfortunately reset when I added it. There were only three votes on there so I added a link to the main page (in Current Poll this time). Would you mind taking another look at Forum:Proposal for a new skin?--Opark 77 15:42, March 21, 2012 (UTC)

I already voted, though the color scheme can tire you faster than the current one.--Gonzalo84 15:44, March 21, 2012 (UTC)

War of the X Kings

Where X = the number of claims acknowledged in an episode. I think we should wait until it is apparent from in episode footage rather than promos.--Opark 77 18:56, March 23, 2012 (UTC)

House navboxes

No plans to from my end - what made you ask? Have I knocked some off by accident while I've been adding category sorting?--Opark 77 16:00, March 24, 2012 (UTC)

Both adding overlords to the house navboxes and creating a vassal house infobox sound reasonable to me. Sorry about taking the navbox off the Renly article, it was accidental. I think it makes sense to leave the House navbox off the house page as you say. I am planning to go back and do houses by region navboxes later which would be a better fit there.--Opark 77 16:24, March 24, 2012 (UTC)
However I don't think we should put the words in the navboxes. The purpose of a navbox is to move a reader on to other related articles that might interest them. I think everything in the navbox should be a link to another article to read and including the words there are an unnecessary detail.--Opark 77 16:39, March 24, 2012 (UTC)
Alright... I was beggining to think the same. I've also created a Clegane navbox: Template:Clegane navbox. What do you think? --Gonzalo84 16:45, March 24, 2012 (UTC)
It looks pretty good. Great work on photoshopping the Bolton sigil into a similar format to the ones we've seen from HBO. However, I think we are getting ahead of ourselves with the information we are listing in the navboxes. We shouldn't be listing characters that have yet to be established in the TV show. That means that these vassal house specific navboxes are going to be a bit sparse but I think we should press on with them anyway. We should only put information in a navbox if we have an article to lead that reader to. I think I need to figure out the formatting behind If# and implement that on Template: House navbox so that our unused fields collapse.
I also think it is OK for an article to have more than one navbox at its base. If an article is listed in a navbox then that navbox should be at the base of that article. So for Maege Mormont and Roose Bolton I would use both the relevant new Vassal House navbox and the Stark navbox. The reason for having navboxes is so that when a reader finishes an article there are a selection of links to related articles at the bottom. Multiple navboxes mean more choice.
Finally I think that a navbox should always guide to an article with the same navbox so the user can easily browse back to where they came from (which come to think of it is why I thought the House navboxes should be on the House pages).--Opark 77 18:26, March 24, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. I agree that the house navbox repeats the information in the infobox when it is posted in the house page, however I don't see this as prohibitive. I think the navbox is useful at the end of a house page because having read the article the reader can then once again see related articles and navigate to them; its purpose there is to guide a reader to more information rather than to give them information.
I attempted to import the full navbox template when I designed Template:House navbox but the code is beyond my capabilities. Are you any better with coding templates? If you can introduce the collapsible functionality and the v/t/e formatting to templates then I would be hugely grateful if you would and will try and learn from scrutinizing your edits. If not I am seeking the support of the other admins to make a request to the Admin Support Team to get a bit of training in how table and template formatting works and will have another go when I know more!--Opark 77 11:13, March 25, 2012 (UTC)
I have had another search through the help pages and I think I have got the hang of using the #if parser function to hide the fields we aren't using in the house navboxes. I also found a guide to using the show/hide code for tables. I have imported that but I can't seem to get the table to autocollapse. According to the guide to the code they should autocollapse wherever there are more than 2 on a page. How does that look?--Opark 77 12:30, March 25, 2012 (UTC)
I have imported Template:Tnavbar-collapsible to get the view/discussion/edit links you mentioned but it seems to have offset the header. I've asked User:XD1 if they are able to help at all.--Opark 77 13:04, March 25, 2012 (UTC)
To direct the v/d/e links in Tnavbar-collapsible to each House navbox it needs to be aimed at each house navbox. I have added the parameter "name" to achieve this e.g. this edit. I've updated all navboxes accordingly. How dox they look?--Opark 77 06:41, March 26, 2012 (UTC)

Blu Ray sourcing

Glad to see more info from the Blu Ray features. Thank you. Could you please add a source to show where the info has come from e.g. this edit.--Opark 77 17:55, March 26, 2012 (UTC)

Baratheon family tree

I'll add that to my to do list. I will try and get it done next week but I am unlikely to manage it before the premiere as I am away this weekend.--Opark 77 21:24, March 28, 2012 (UTC)

Update done, what do you think? I struggled to work Cersei, Mhaegen and Robert's other women onto the same row. I compromised by moving Cerseri and Jaime onto a new row. The alternative would be to omit Mhaegen specifically and have Cersei on one side of Robert and his other women as a group on the other side.--Opark 77 15:50, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
Making all the images smaller now would be very time consuming, are you willing to help? I don't understand what you mean by:
"I think that you should exchange Barra and "other women" with Cersei and Jaime."
I can swap either Barra or other women with Cersei but not both because they both need a line to Robert.--Opark 77 18:17, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

No. He says that the Dothraki have an abundance of grass and horses and they can't eat horse. I think you can take that as an inference that they're on the Dothraki Sea, but minutes late he tells Viserys they're still close to Pentos (close enough for Viserys just to turn around and ride back by himself if he wants). Then in Episode 3 they pass through a tall reed forest and Mormont says they're very close to Qohor (close enough that he can ride there and back again and rejoin the horde a day or two later). The intervening geography is fairly rugged between the Rhoyne and Qohor, so logically they must be on the Flatlands in Episode 2.--Werthead 19:59, March 31, 2012 (UTC)

Oh alright... too bad the guys who did the title sequence didn't include the Flatlands and/or Lhazar on the map.--Gonzalo84 17:45, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

I was wondering which promo he was in so that I can reference it? --Opark 77 19:52, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

I think he appears in the clip in which Tyrion shows up in King's Landing during the tourney for Joffrey's nameday.--Gonzalo84 20:12, April 1, 2012 (UTC)
I'm not sure about that clip. I think that there are different extras wearing some of the costumes from last year. I'm not even sure it is Timmett because he seems to have both eyes in the second season and one eye in the first season. Would you mind if we wait and see for later in the season when hopefully Shagga will get lines and we can get a better look at the others?--Opark 77 18:03, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for copy editing the recap and for your ongoing work getting us up to date with the viewer's guide.--Opark 77 17:59, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

Main page character gallery

We're discussing altering the main page character portal on the forum. I'd appreciate your input as one of our most active editors.--Opark 77 21:37, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

Navbox changes

I've fixed the Legendary Heroes navbox - the wikia coder who was helping to implement navboxes used a slightly different version where the parameter names are different.

Good idea about adding ancestors to house navboxes. Looks good.--Opark 77 18:13, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

Addam Marbrand

Why not. I noticed during my rewatch that "Ser Addam" is named by the messenger who reports Robb's movements to Tywin and our Leo Lefford was present but Lannister bannerman 2 was not there so he could well be their version of Addam Marbrand.--Opark 77 21:05, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

Bald bannerman

Harys Swyft was the other bannerman present in the books. The bald bannerman extra has no lines so I don't think we can really guess though.--Opark 77 08:31, April 6, 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism watch

Thanks for the note about User:LuvsFallout, I have blocked them.--Opark 77 09:36, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the note. I think it is not inaccurate to call him a fool! I am happy to put up with the work generated by the low level of anon vandalism in order to allow the beneficial edits we also get from anon editors.--Opark 77 18:01, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

That is fine by me.--Opark 77 18:39, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Locations and geography

I checked Overview categories and I think locations was set up to be a subcategory of Geography for specific places like the Inn at the Crossroads. Perhaps your new categories should by "Places in" rather than "Locations of". I think I have used Locations when I should have used Regions several times when creating new articles.--Opark 77 20:17, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Careful there

I've just been through the Riverlands category and can't see any. Which do you mean?--Opark 77 22:30, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Lannisport and the Crag AFAIK... I corrected it.--Gonzalo84 22:53, April 8, 2012 (UTC)

Season 2 biographies

My aim is to have a separate article for the major characters with all the detail of their role in a season with a summary style of the information on the main article. I was going to start splitting them up later in the season.--Opark 77 08:04, April 12, 2012 (UTC)

Baratheon Guard

Lets wait until after next week - his CV lists him as in multiple episodes. I suspect he might also take on the role of one of Renly's kingsguard fighting Brienne.--Opark 77 08:45, April 17, 2012 (UTC)

Tyrion Lannister

What do you think of the current version of Tyrion Lannister? Is that preferable to the longer summaries? Is it worth keeping Tyrion Lannister Season 2?--Opark 77 21:07, April 17, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading the Tarth sigil. Please can you add:

  1. Source
  2. Description
  3. Licensing tag
  4. Categories

so that we can keep it.--Opark 77 23:31, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for adding the information. I note your edit summary. I specifically am not going to be adding this information for other users because I want to promote people doing it themselves. Monitoring images takes up a disproportionate amount of my time here and teaching users to upload properly on their own will free up my time in the long run. When I judge that someone doesn't know what to do I will show them and link to the example edit. When I see an experienced user not adding the required information a reminder seems sufficient.--Opark 77 09:19, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

Joffrey 2x01.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Joffrey 2x01.jpg. Please could you add a category, a licensing tag, the source and a description so that we can keep it.--Opark 77 01:34, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

Brandon Stark (the Builder)

Could you let me know the source for Brandon Stark (the Builder)?--Opark 77 19:05, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

File:Jorah 2x01.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Jorah 2x01.jpg. When you are uploading a replacement image could you use the link to upload a new version of the existing image in the file history section (File:Jorah_2x01.jpg#File_history) rather than creating a new image. It just saves me having to go back and delete the superseded image and will save you having to edit the pages where the image is used.--Opark 77 17:56, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

I am all for better quality images but I want to keep my focus on keeping us up to date with season 2 for now. How about categorizing images you are unhappy with so that we can target them later?--Opark 77 18:41, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

Do you mind if I re-upload the pictures of Quaithe and Hallyne as they're rather low res? Carninator 09:10, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

Qhorin's men

Qhorin definitely said Stonesnake but I heard Harker and B-er rather than Ebben and Dalbridge. Would you mind rewatching to see what you think. Does HBO go have closed captions? I've checked the HBO synopsis and no names were given for the trio there. --Opark 77 20:32, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

Any thoughts?--Opark 77 22:07, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

Undying ones

Hey just wondering why you changed/deleted what I wrote on the Undying ones page. I'm new here, so just trying to understand how things are done around here.

Got it. Thanks, I was just wondering. :-)

Pyromancer's Guild

I don't think it is referred to on screen as the alchemists' guild at any point so we need to rename the article. Do you concur? If so would you mind restoring the links you altered?--Opark 77 22:07, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

My apologies. Thank you for checking.--Opark 77 22:33, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

Lannister bannermen

Definitely not TV Addam Marbrand or Leo Lefford (which is a shame as both of them were at Harrenhal in the books). I believe one of them might have been the same bald bannerman that we saw in season 1 (the one seated immediately to Tywin's right in "The Ghost of Harrenhal"). As to the other two I couldn't say. With no comparable book scene it is hard to say. They were both white haired and in Lannister armour as far as I can recall. We could screencap all three war council scenes to be sure.--Opark 77 22:51, April 30, 2012 (UTC)

Call it no. 1 and I'll make sure I get the screencap the right way round when I come to do it.--Opark 77 21:22, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

Definitely not Leo Lefford, same 3 unnamed bannermen have been in all the meetings this season though. I'm glad we saw Kevan, was starting to worry. Think the others are a lost cause though.--Opark 77 09:02, May 21, 2012 (UTC)

Lynesse Hightower

I believe she was mentioned by Jorah in conversation with Daenerys in "Lord Snow." I'm not sure that he named her but her went into detail about the marriage being the motivation behind the crimes that went into his exile and the subsequent breakdown of the relationship.--Opark 77 20:46, May 3, 2012 (UTC)

I have no idea. It was from the notoriously unreliable IMDb so could be wrong but I didn't have anything else to go on. Struggling a bit to identify the minor roles this week. I'm assuming the Croatian named actors are rioters but the only actor I can match by face to a part is Reginald Varley.--Opark 77 19:49, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

Amrita Acharia did an interview with Access Hollywood that confirms Irri's death.--Opark 77 19:01, May 10, 2012 (UTC)

Amory's misaddressed mail

I don't think Tywin said Lady Maege Mormont. Sounded like Lord Marlin of House Dormund to me.--Opark 77 15:05, May 12, 2012 (UTC)

Lannister family tree

I'm not sure about that. Has Stafford been established as a first cousin to Tywin in dialogue? Have Stafford and Joanna been established as siblings? Also I don't know how I would make the lines work to illustrate Joanna's marriage to Tywin and her status as his first cousin so I'd like to avoid doing it unless the show clearly establishes it.--Opark 77 10:26, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

After tonight's GoT it said "2 episodes left" but we have 3 more listed in appearances..... any clue? --QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 02:42, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

The preview is for next episode, "The Prince of Winterfell", maybe it doesn't count itself... or maybe they'll broadcast the last two in one night.--Gonzalo84 02:52, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Robb's camp

Could well be Ashemark. I'm all for assuming their vaguely following the book unless there is clear evidence to the contrary. Perhaps its moving all the time can explain why it took Alton 1 episode to get to King's Landing and 5 episodes to get back.--Opark 77 17:30, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Dark Sister

You have the page "Dark Sister" but on the page "Dark Syster" Which is it? :)QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 04:56, May 16, 2012 (UTC)

Just caught it...wanted to point it out :) B.

Copper King

Taking a guess. We only see Spice King, Xaro, Pyat Pree, this guy, Member of the Thirteen and one other 13 in closeup. Between the three unnamed ones this guy was wearing the most copper colors. I think Member of the Thirteen is a candidate to be the Silk King too.--Opark 77 06:23, May 16, 2012 (UTC)

Spoiler template

I'm not sure we need to use Template:MajorSpoilers for as yet unaired episodes. What on the article Valar Morghulis is a spoiler? If we are placing it because of the plot synopsis then the mention of the books is unnecessary because the synopsis comes from hbo. I am a little worried that saying an article contains spoilers from the books is an invitation for users to violate our spoiler policy with information from the books. I have changed the template to avoid this, what do you think?--Opark 77 21:36, May 17, 2012 (UTC)

Good point, definitely needed then. Probably should go on all unaired episodes as the synopsis will always contain some degree of spoiler.--Opark 77 22:07, May 17, 2012 (UTC)

Locking pages

I'm not sure locking to new editors to prevent vandalism is worth the risk of turning away positive contributors. How many instances of vandalism did we see on the last episode so far this week? How many instances of new editors making constructive edits were there? I don't mind cleaning up vandalism if it is keeping a door open to new contributors.--Opark 77 21:51, May 17, 2012 (UTC)

Good point about admin cover in the USA timezone. Perhaps apply to User:Werthead for admin rights, I would certainly support you having them. Regarding locking the pages I would recommend a forum topic and seeking the input of some of the other admins.--Opark 77 23:57, May 17, 2012 (UTC)
The Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams pages were locked during an exchange of emails with HBO in which they were looking into some of the vandalism being more serious than just idiots and trolls. I'm waiting to hear back on any further developments in that case before unlocking them again.--Werthead 13:12, May 18, 2012 (UTC)

Admin rights

You now have admin powers. Welcome to the team :-) --Werthead 13:10, May 18, 2012 (UTC)

Congratulations and welcome aboard.--Opark 77 13:53, May 18, 2012 (UTC)

File:King Renly2.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:King Renly2.jpg, please could you add the source and a description so that we can keep it.--Opark 77 15:21, May 19, 2012 (UTC)

Quote Page

First of all, watch your mouth, you are nothing but a user with special powers. Also the quote page was actually suggested by Owen, who is a far better admin, so you should take this up with him. And the quotes are useful.

Why don't you come on chat! Were all there! And sorry!

I have given Chrys a warning about keeping a civil tone (via chat and on her talk page) as the first message in this section is clearly unacceptable. That said I was disappointed to see your post on her talk page criticizing her for setting up Category:Quote needed. It was indeed something we had discussed on chat and is part of a process we are going to collaborate on aimed at systematically adding quotes to character pages. Now that you are an admin please try to encourage our beginner contributors where possible.--Opark 77 22:51, May 19, 2012 (UTC)

When changing the quote on a page please could you move the old one down to a quotes section like this edit.--Opark 77 23:35, May 19, 2012 (UTC)

Older images

I'm just working back through Special:Uncategorizedimages and found another couple of yours that need some information. They are:

  1. File:Torrhen stark.jpg
  2. File:Torrhen kneels.jpg

Please could you add the usual source (which featurette are they from?), description, licensing information (permission) and category. Categories wise I've been adding Category:Image (Special Features) to these.--Opark 77 08:31, May 20, 2012 (UTC)

I am clearing Special:Uncategorizedimages again and found a further one of yours that needs some information at File:The Seven.jpg. I've nominated it for deletion, please could you add the usual source (which featurette is it from?), description, licensing information (permission) and category (Category:Image (Special Features)) to it so that we can keep it.--Opark 77 13:07, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

Formatting in lists

I wasn't sure about the {} thing when you first suggested it but have dwelt on it, had a refresher look at some house pages on the wiki of ice and fire and have come around to it. Sorry for the slow response. Good suggestion, lets do it.--Opark 77 21:50, May 20, 2012 (UTC)

I think it gets too confusing for people. If a user, who does not know the website, he does not know what {} mean, but if we write deceased, it is much easier to understand and straightforward. --Mesmermann 13:43, May 23, 2012 (UTC)
Perhaps as a compromise we should do both. Keep the curly brackets but also note deceased e.g. Eddard Karstark and House Karstark.--Opark 77 13:47, May 23, 2012 (UTC)
That could work, but will the {} not be redundant. --Mesmermann 14:02, May 23, 2012 (UTC)

I think the {} makes a nice visual indicator when scanning the page, giving it some functionality above the plain text and keeping it from being redundant.--Opark 77 06:27, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

Well, hey! Im on chat now, if you were going on, again. :)

In the footnotes for Harren Hoare you have said that "it is stated that only on the field of fire were the three dragons used together." Please add a source to this statement on the article.--Opark 77 06:23, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you.--Opark 77 07:05, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

What I added to Bryan in the section In the books, I had been allowed to write that by User:Opark 77. Look in A Clash of Kings on page 547 . --Mesmermann 22:33, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

That was an unfortunate and rapid spate of vandalism. I have deleted all the pages created. I don't recall you suggesting that we prevent anonymous editing altogether. As far as I understood it we talked about locking the newest episode page. It is not solely my decision. Propose it on the forum and seek input from the other admins if you like.--Opark 77 01:08, May 26, 2012 (UTC)

That episode was THE BEST EPISODE EVER of Got!!!!! I am still REELING!!!!!! WOW! --QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 04:50, May 28, 2012 (UTC)

What do you mean "Per credits"? The show doesn't give character names in its credits. Are you using another source? She has been referred to onscreen as Armeca and then later as Aremca so I think we should note it as a mispronounciation until a reliable source states otherwise. I have undone your move.--Opark 77 10:56, May 29, 2012 (UTC)

Would still love to hear back from you regarding "Per credits". What did you mean?--Opark 77 07:06, May 30, 2012 (UTC)

Release of Jaime Lannister

I think it merits an article because it is part of the significant chain of events in the War of The Five Kings. It is something that we refer to frequently in the surrounding articles. It is probably more significant to the course of the war than the Battle of the Yellow Fork will prove to be.--Opark 77 07:05, May 30, 2012 (UTC)

Metaphors and the Dragons

Thank you for removing those metaphorial, flowery descriptions of the Dragons' appearances on Rhaegal and Viserion; its quoting the books but shouldn't have been included on here. --The Dragon Demands 19:33, May 30, 2012 (UTC)

Vote on Greyjoy Rebellion

Your attention is needed in a vote on the Talk page for Greyjoy Rebellion.--The Dragon Demands 20:02, May 31, 2012 (UTC)

I'm confused... so why is a "Wight" not a White Walker. I mean.. look at the White Walker page- it's basically the same thing as a Wight? HELP! lol --QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 08:19, June 4, 2012 (UTC)

Renaming articles

Please don't rename an article without addressing the attendant links using the "What links here" feature under "My tools" at the bottom of the page. I disagree re: the High Septon article anyway so I have moved it back. The numbering convention you seem to favor is potentially problematic in that the first High Septon in the show is not the first High Septon so we may need to overhaul that at a later date.--Opark 77 22:25, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

I was thinking more about naming these articles, I don't know why I didn't stick with our usual convention for using first episodes. That would make for shorter titles. I will change them some time.--Opark 77 21:22, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

High Septon in Season 1

I can't check right now but will have a look tomorrow and get back to you.--Opark 77 21:22, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry I was slower than I said. Yes there was a septon on stage for Ned's execution and Ned does ask the High Septon to bear witness to his words so if you wanted to write him up as a High Septon character I would support that. Also I note that there are 5 kingsguard on stage. Ser Meryn Trant is absent as is Ser Jaime Lannister so we can infer that Boros, Mandon, Preston, Arys and the Hound are present.--Opark 77 17:44, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
I agree ^ -- 19:26, June 29, 2012 (UTC)

We originally went with Wildlings because that was all they were referred to as on screen. Now that Free Folk is established in the TV series renaming seems quite reasonable to me. Perhaps we should test the water with a vote on the articles talk page and then go ahead if it has consensus support. It will involve a massive amount of redirecting links.

With regards to Rattleshirt. We named it that when the casting was announced but now that he has been in the show he has only been referred to on screen as "Lord of Bones" similar to how R'hllor has not been used in the show. So I renamed it because Rattleshirt is meaningless to our target audience. Neither of them are proper names really, they are both nicknames. One he likes and one he doesn't.--Opark 77 17:38, June 9, 2012 (UTC)

House Serrett

House Serrett is up for deletion as it has no sources establishing it in the context of the show (See Talk:House Serrett). Can you add one?--Opark 77 13:47, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply on my talk page. Please can you add a source to the article stating the same.--Opark 77 16:47, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for adding the source, I meant just an episode reference but what we have now is fine too.--Opark 77 10:06, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

Duels and events

An infobox and articles for duels sounds good to me. What would we have? Bronn vs Ser Vardis and Lord Eddard vs Ser Jaime are the ones that spring to mind. Oh, Jon vs Qhorin would qualify too I guess. So yeah there are enough to make it worthwhile.

As for the other events you mentioned; I like Massacre at the Red Keep, I think maybe Execution of Eddard Stark. I'm concerned that other editors might object as they did to the Jaime Lannister release one, but my personal opinion remains the same; these are worth having.--Opark 77 10:06, June 16, 2012 (UTC)

Pyat Pree

You implied that he was killed by Drogon in the books which is not the case therefore I deleted the that particular sentence.--{{SUBST:User:SGCommand/Sig|12:51,6/21/2012}}

Hey! Since I am gone from TB Wiki, I was thinking of coming over to the Buffy Wiki. What all needs to be done? I noticed new infobox pics would be nice. Also... ever thought about a new main page?? with Featured sections? Cast portals? Etc? Let me know! :) --QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 03:40, July 5, 2012 (UTC)

Any chance you can come on chat so we can co-ordinate writing articles for new cast members?--Opark 77 22:27, July 13, 2012 (UTC)

I was wondering why my addition of Aerys' Kingsguard was removed? Draevan13 (talk) 22:10, July 20, 2012 (UTC)

It should have been moved to "in the books", not removed entirely.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 01:15, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Why do you keep using apostrophes as full quotation marks? (Why did you redirect the link I was pointing out)?

This should only be done in the case of a quote within a quote. This wiki conforms to standard American English, and unlike British English, regular quotations must be made only with full quotation marks. I've been fixing these whenever I see them. --The Dragon Demands (talk) 00:14, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

Because its the style employed in the books and in AWoIaF.--Gonzalo84 (talk) 15:56, July 21, 2012 (UTC)
....what edition were you reading? No. The Wiki of Ice And Fire may itself be in error (or rather, no one has gotten around to making such corrections yet). But we shouldn't cite other wikis.-->I have just checked my own books, and they use standard double-quotation marks. I would assume that the international adaptation versions of the books used non-American English punctuation...but that's just a localization. No more correct than referring to the series as "Trone de Fer". "the books", as George R.R. Martin wrote them, use quotation marks for quotes and titles, single-mark apostrophes are only used for quotes within a quote. --The Dragon Demands (talk) 16:09, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

Testing new videos page

Hey there - I wanted to check in with you about whether game of thrones would be ok with testing a new video landing page. Since you already have the related videos module, we thought game of thrones was a good choice. This will add a link to video in the nav on the wiki tab, and will look like the picture here. Let me know if the community would be ok with that here. --Sarah@Wikia (help forum | blog)17:42, August 28, 2012 (UTC)

Wounded Lannister

I left a message on the talk page, but didn't get a response. For Wounded Lannister, I put in the scene where Talisa goes to Robb to talk to him about getting medical supplies. She says that she especially needs "milk of the poppy"; she reminds him that he saw how difficult it is to amputate a foot without it, and there will be more amputations before the war is done.

This is an obvious reference to Wounded Lannister, why was it edited out.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 02:15, December 19, 2012 (UTC)

I'm having Westeros Anxiety! Configuring pages is very difficult for me! Thanks for the "raven" welcoming me. Eyehavenofilter.

Bran is referred to as 'Brandon' once, in the very first episode. Catelyn yells "BRANDON!" when she sees him on the rooftops. However, I fully agree that he should be listed as 'Bran'. There are way too many 'Brandons' and the article titles are getting a little silly with all the qualifiers. 'Brandon Stark' should be Eddard's brother and Bran the Builder should be 'Brandon Stark (the Builder)'. All IMO of course.--Werthead (talk) 21:16, December 28, 2012 (UTC)

Good catch (I'm too busy to rewatch a comprehensive marathon right at the moment). Oh, well I'm all for easy of reference, if you want to retitle the article itself "Bran Stark"....just so long as it is accepted that "in the TV series continuity", his name is officially "Brandon" (and we note this at the beginning of his biography, etc.). --The Dragon Demands (talk) 21:50, December 28, 2012 (UTC)

Golden Crown

I did the last unfinished scene, I thought I had put in all the links. I studied another recap and it didn't seem to have a lot of links, the links all seem to be on the main episode page. I could go through and add more photos if you think I need to. I'll give it another read through and see if I can add anything.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 04:11, December 29, 2012 (UTC) PS I'm starting to work on another Complete Guide to Westeros segment. I'll post when I'm done.

Thanks for the reminder to double check, because I had forgot something-I didn't put in the categories. So I put them in. I also did another read through tweaking it and adding lines here and there. And I put in more links and photos. Let me know if you spot anything else.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 07:09, December 29, 2012 (UTC)

OK, another three hours, but I think I addressed all your concerns. I doubt I'll be starting another recap anytime soon, these things are long and the last week has been excruciating. Ch'vyalthan (talk) 00:03, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

RE: Welcome

Thank you. The Bastard of Bolton (talk) 11:39, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

Is there anything I can do to be helpful? The Bastard of Bolton (talk) 13:14, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

I'll undo them, but the box at the top of their character pages show their alligence, and it clearly shows that Willis Woode owes his alligence to House Tully and House Whent.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 18:21, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

When I was going through the characters about half of them had already been added to the catagories of the Houses they were in service to, I just put into catagories the ones that hadn't been added. What are the rules? Do they have to be nobles? What if they are in military service to a House? If all of them are wrong I'll be happy to go in and change all of them (the ones I did and the ones done by others), please let me know what reasons would justify being added to a House catagory, because there seems to be obvious inconsistencies. Ch'vyalthan (talk) 18:34, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

I was just looking at Colen Greenpools, I changed his catagory from House Baratheon to House Baratheon of Storm's End, since he was in service to Renly in the War. Now, Dragon has changed it to House Baratheon Renly Baratheon for his alligence is this something new as well.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 18:42, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

I better wait until I hear back from you before I do something else that is wrong.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 18:42, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

That's true, ultimately everyone owes alligence to the king, but still what is the current operating system. Do I give alligence to the House of which they are directly in service? Then Willis Wode would be in House Whent and not House Tully. Is it just military service or do they have to have noble rank? Or do they have to be nobles of that house? Do you want me to take out the small folk of Winterfell even though their information boxes say Alligence : House Stark? Let me know exactly so I won't be mistaken in the future about the Houses Catagories.

Also, are we calling it House Baratheon Renly Baratheon now instead of House Baratheon Storm's End and should I take alligence to House Tully out of Willis Woode's information box? Let me know so I can fix this stuff.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 19:05, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

I left a message for Opark, but haven't heard back from him. Do you do page backgrounds/color schemes, etc? With Season 3 approaching we will need something besides this gold and black. I am thinking keep the grey and white.. maybe add a light blue..something to do with wildlings? Anyway, let me know if you even do layouts. If not, I will contact Wikia :) QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 20:36, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

I will have a look. Unsure of how to do the background image, perhaps that is indicated in the tools also. Thanks :) QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 20:59, December 30, 2012 (UTC)

RE: Driftmark

It's mentioned in Monica Velaryon's entry in the Lineages book. The categories were a simple mistake, as I was fairly new to this wiki at the time. Also, I couldn't help but notice your message on the bastard of Bolton's page... I must say I was pretty taken aback. For starters, he didn't create that article at all, Opark did. Secondly, threatening to BAN someone over something so utterly harmless is heavy-heavy in the most extreme sense of the word, and is really not acceptable behavior for an administrator. This really was an total error in judgement on your part, and doesn't reflect well on you at all. The Knight of the FlowersRainbowguard 07:01, December 31, 2012 (UTC)

You misunderstood what I said. The Bastard of Bolton didn't create the Iornborn messanger article you accused him of creating, Opark did. I never denied writing the Driftmark article, in fact I specifically said I did. And, yes I've been at Wookiepedia, and yes they are ruthless. I can see that you've experienced that first hand. All the same, I think you should message him back, and clarify that you made a mistake. The Knight of the FlowersRainbowguard 12:34, December 31, 2012 (UTC)

Complete Guide to Westeros

Your version was much closer to the original than mine, now that I know that you can do them that way the others will go faster. I thought you had to make them very different. The only apostrophe that I found that I hadn't put in was the one for "father's bed". I tried to check thoroughly, was that the only mistake? Should the photo of Theon with the direwolf have been put in the gallery rather than in the Season 1 section?Ch'vyalthan (talk) 05:59, January 3, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, each Aerys should have been followed by an apostrophe. Darn, this time I really thought I had checked enough. Maybe I need to wait an hour, take a break and then reread. I'll try that. Ch'vyalthan (talk) 06:01, January 3, 2013 (UTC)

Buffy Wiki part deux

Ok, clarify for me... give me an example what you would write past tense and what you wouldn't... lol. Sorry, I can be slow at times. And don't sell yourself short, you still register roughly around 35-40thousand views/hits a day on the wiki :) That's really good! Ok, I won't mess with the pic licensing- I may  create a generic license statement though and put it on the community page somewhere. Just so we have it somewhere as a disclaimer, in case they do ever look. QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 16:08, January 3, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, I gotcha now :) Thanks. Oh, I also want you to consider making Ownerman an Admin. I've noticed he's made over 2,000 edits, and he really deserved it more than me. I think he could help me a lot while you are on hiatus. Just a thought :D --QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 03:16, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I did add some new houses to put people in the Catagories of the Houses that their information boxes said they owed alligence to. Most of these went into houses that had already been established, Stark and Lannister primarily. I think I did add three or four Houses, but then I went back and deleted two of them, because you said not to make catagories that had less than three entries. I think you mean that I didn't add them to the Houses Catagory. Thanks for the heads up, I will go and do so now.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 04:42, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

I agree they are pointless, that is why I do a search and see how many articles are related and would be included in the Catagory, and I deleted the ones that didn't. I'm going through the whole list of vassel houses now. About half of the house catagories are linked to the Vassel House Catagory and houses of a particular region Catagory and half aren't. I was adding the ones that weren't. I think it would probably make more sense that way. I'm probably not explaining that right.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 05:30, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I didn't catogize anyone under a name I'm just doing houses. Vassel House, House of the North, etc. what I was saying before was that instead of putting House Clegane (to use your example) into the Catagory of House Lannister, put it in the Catagory of House Clegane and then put that Catagory into the House Lannister. So when it's pressed you get all of the house articles together.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 05:36, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, Category. It was actually auto correcting it that way. When it auto corrects I usually trust it better than my own judgement.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 05:39, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

Anyway, let me know what you think about adding the category of the house rather than the house itself. This way the article page would take you to the category of that house, and then the houses category page would take you the category page of the house it owes alligence to. What do you think?Ch'vyalthan (talk) 05:42, January 4, 2013 (UTC)

Winterfell Shepherd

I did add one line to this, about Theon giving the gold pouch to Dagmer, and I corrected it to say that they were "orphans" and that Dagmer had gone back to kill him and his "wife". And those lines were correct. I'm being more careful with grammar.

As for Cersei, I went to change it, but you had already done so. Ok, I see how the handmaiden's reference to Cersei was tangential, but Cersei's reference to Robert being an indifferent husband was relevant.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 17:52, January 5, 2013 (UTC)

Are you on tonight?

I was wondering if you were familiar with templates for references? I need help on another wiki I run. I am trying to set it up so that references will show at the bottom of the page, but having major issues. Thanks :) QueenBuffy35 Crown New Red 03:02, January 6, 2013 (UTC)

In the books

"The series is called A Song of Ice and Fire, not "Song of Ice and Fire... please correct your modifications".--Gonzalo84 (talk) 22:02, January 6, 2013 (UTC)

That's exactly what I'm doing. I've been changing incorrect instances of "The" to "A". Not once have I changed it to just "Song of Ice and Fire". Please be more careful in the future, as this is the second time you've accused me of something I haven't done--The Bastard of Bolton (talk) 22:12, January 6, 2013 (UTC)

I know you're not making that mistake. If you understood that I'm sorry, I just wanted you to place the "A" inside the links. That's all. And thank you for improving my latest cleanup spree. Its greatly appreciated.--Gonzalo84 (talk) 22:15, January 6, 2013 (UTC)
I have been adding the "A" within the links in every instance that I've edited so far. And you're welcome. Of, course, I understand that honest mistakes are made.--The Bastard of Bolton (talk) 22:23, January 6, 2013 (UTC)

Daenerys I Targaryen

Thanks, I will go and leave a note about it on the other wiki.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 05:07, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

Eddard and Catelyn

This is a work in progress; I only started writing it yesterday. I have not gotten to the point of proof-reading for commas yet. As for Brandon riding to his wedding, that is in the book, but I thought it was also in the Complete Guide to Westeros, which would make it canon. I will check. Yes, I have used the term "Crown Prince", but I will stop doing so. I am still making descisions about how much information about other characters to include. I will reread QueenBuffy's "Drogo and Daenerys" as a guide. Thank you for proofreading, I always appreciate constructive criticism.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 06:23, January 16, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks a lot! I'm new at the forum, and still don't know how it work... 14:01, January 17, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, I'll see how the other films were put in and do it the same way. Also, there needs to be a concensous for an apostrophe on a name ending in an "s". I put in an 's and had "s" taken out as unnecessary. Then when I removed one it was put back in. I looked it up on Wikipedia and apparently even the Supreme Court can't decide if the "s" is needed after the apostrophe on a name ending in "s".Ch'vyalthan (talk) 04:56, January 19, 2013 (UTC)

Words ending in "s" DO NOT add another possessive apostrophe-S. Never. For example, "the daughter of Stannis" is written as "Stannis' daughter", NEVER "Stannis's daughter". There is no debate.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 05:07, January 19, 2013 (UTC)

What you want me to do

Sorry I left this message on my page, but I'm not sure you got it. Do you want me to go through the whole Mentioned Character category and remove them all from the "Image Needed" category only, or from both the "Image Needed" and "Quote Needed" categories. I will be happy to take out the ones I put in and the one others put in, as well. Please just tell me which ones.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 00:34, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

storm of swords book compilation

== I'm sorry. Spoilers from the novels,

I had that quote for Armeca so I added it in when I put took her out of the quote needed category. I have other quotes, but I'll wait until I finish and go back and add those in. Ch'vyalthan (talk) 02:49, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

I think I've taken all the only mentioned characters out. I still think that a house sigil would be better than nothing. That's how it's done on the Family Trees on the major character pages. It would make the Characters category pages look better.

I checked for quotes, but didn't find many where a quote was put in, but the "Quote Needed" category hadn't been removed. I found a lot more characters that had spoken in the show, but didn't have quotes and weren't in the "Quote Needed" category. I didn't add them; I just made a list. I wasn't sure what the reaction would be if I started adding more people in than I was taking out. However, I'll be getting quotes for them or at least trying to in the next few days. Ch'vyalthan (talk) 10:50, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

"Quote needed" isn't so bad as "Image needed", as theoretically, any character mentioned or referred to in dialogue can have a quote attributed to them. Things like "Luthor Tyrell", however, which you added "Quote Needed" to, SHOULD NOT AND CANNOT have a quote, because they're only known of from family trees. "Quote Needed" can broadly be used for anything mentioned in actual, on-screen dialogue, even by other people.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 15:57, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

I did not put "Luthor Tyrell" in the "Quote Needed" category, I only put him in the "Image Needed" category, and then took him out. I still think there could be the image of the House Sigil as there is in the Family Trees. It would make the Characters category page look better. I went through every character and there were only a couple of things I found that I had done wrong, such as putting Mace Tyrell in the "Quote Needed" category. He was one of only two season 3 people that already had a quote. I did find several people who had been given quotes, but had not then been removed from the category, and I took them out. I did find a couple of others not in a category they should have been in like the Lord of Bones. I also removed the image and quote needed categories that other people had put in, for characters only written about in books. I removed everyone who was only mentioned that I had added to the "Quote Needed" and "Image Needed" categories, as I had been instructed to do. I never added anyone who was only written about in a book to the "Quote Needed" category. I found lots of characters who actually spoke during the show or were spoken about who did not have quotes. I didn't add in more people to "Quote Needed", because of all the fuss, but I made a list and will try to get the quotes. If I can't find them or can't make out what they are saying or just get tired, I'll add them into the category and let someone else take a shot at it. About the Aggo page, I did catch that Rakharo was spelled with an "h" and thought I had changed it, but apparently something happened as it didn't publish the correction. Thanks for catching that. Thos charactes don't require sigil images on the infoboxes because they already have sigils by their names--Gonzalo84 ([[User talk:Gonzalo84|talk]]) 22:00, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

We need to differentiate articles with "Valyria" in the title, however I think having a disambiguation page (as the default link) isn't really necessary. What I think we should do is have "Valyria" redirect automatically to "Valyrian Freehold", as this is what is usually meant. A link to a disambiguation page can go on the top of this. Meanwhile, I think we should retitle the article on the specific capital city to "Old Valyria", to keep the titles distinct (and not without justification, as they've called it that at times). Other things aren't so ambiguous; "Valyrian peninsula", "Valyrian steel", and "the Doom of Valyria" won't really be confused with the ancient empire, though I would put them in the disambiguation page as "Valyria related topics".--The Dragon Demands (talk) 01:55, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

I think soldiers should be in a separate category from smallfolk. Well, "Palla" is a smallfolk living in Winterfell, but actual guardsmen like Polliver should be in a "soldiers" category.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 05:11, January 22, 2013 (UTC)

Can I edit

I was trying to edit and it won't let me. It is just like when I first joined and it would only let me edit in monobook. I edited War of Five King's. There were a lot of mistakes and I corrected them. Now it won't even let me check the edit history. I was working now on changing the word Harrenhall to Harrenhal . There is one in the "in the book" section of Old Gods and the New, but it won't let me change it. Am I not allowed to edit while my case is under review, because I need to rewrite my article that's in my sandbox. What about making a blog. Is that OK? Ch'vyalthan (talk) 13:03, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

It is terribly frustrating having to work in monobook. Please let me know the rules about whether I am allowed to edit.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 13:13, January 23, (UTC)

P.s. I had an idea that I told Dragon the other day. Can we get quotations for mentioned only in book sources characters out of A Complete Guide to Westeros? We do use it as canon for background information.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 13:15, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

It's letting me edit again in wikia. If I can't edit I need to upload that list of all the characters that spoke or were spoken about into the "Quote Needed" category so someone else can do itCh'vyalthan (talk) 13:37, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

War of Five Kings

Usually I never comment or question a revision by an admin, but my revision of War of Five King's was not a bad one. The word strength was misspelled twice in that article. It said that Stannis and Renly have "raise" their own armies instead of "raised". It didn't mention that Eddard had been named regent before being charged with treason. It said the Lannister forces "has" responded instead of "have". The name Greyjoy was misspelled. It said "on" the wake of Eddard's execution instead of "in" the wake. Your revision put all of these errors back into the article. These were actually things that were wrong that I corrected. Ch'vyalthan (talk) 13:53, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

I edited War of Five King's again. Please, please read it and you will see that my edits are good.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 14:21, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

I was going to continue with finding quotations, but then I realized that I may not be here in a week, and I have to wrap up all of my loose ends, just in case. I have this list of people that quotes exist for who still need them, but as I can't do it, I'll have to add them to the "Quote Needed" category. They have been checked, but I will go through and double check to be sure that they speak or are spoken about and do not currently have posted quotes. In fact I'll probably recheck the whole thing just to be sure. I'll make a note to Dragon so he doesn't think I've gone "insane" again. I like to visit actors Wikipedia pages, and, when I find a fact that is new, I jot it on a list. I have two loose leaf pages of notes. I have to input this stuff if a time is coming when I can't, so I'll have to stop looking for quotes, for now at least. I think quotes would be a good idea on every page, not just characters, but castles, cities objects etc. If it is decided that we can use The Complete Guide to Westeros for quotes, it would give us quotes for lots of people, institutions, events, eras, etc. It would make the wiki look really polished. I will check in with you before starting anything major.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 16:54, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

This is nearly empty. If it is a valid category, I'll add to it, if not I'll empty it so it disappears.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 23:39, January 23, 2013 (UTC)

I've gone through the Characters category so often I'm seeing these people in my sleep. Hot pie and the Tickler are names, so I didn't include them in with the unnamed. I asked this once before, are the animals characters? The Three-eyed raven is in Characters, but the wolves aren't. The wolves have more right to be so, if they aren't, then the raven has to come out.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 01:35, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Quotations around episodes

One of the things Dragon says I did consistently wrong was putting quotations around episodes. There are quotations around episodes throughout this wiki. In picture descriptions, in info boxes, in galleries, and even in references. I see them everywhere. I was going to start making the effort to remove them, but I'm not sure where to even start. Any advice?Ch'vyalthan (talk) 06:23, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

P.s. I started doing searches on misspelled stuff and I've been able to find and remove a lot of weird stuff: Danerys, Barratheon, Mamoa, etc. Kit Harington's info box had the title "Kit Harrington".

When I'm less tired, I need to go through all the minor characters next as there are several uncredited extras in there who I think should be in the background category instead. Which leads to another question. There are several uncredited extras who are described as reoccurring background characters. Are they background characters or reoccurring characters? Or are they both? Ch'vyalthan (talk) 06:27, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

I think I've got the characters in the right categories, and I've burned through one page of my actor notes. Just to check before I do some thing, actors have a star category, but no categories for the others: minor characters and extras. I was going to make those. I have so much practice now that it shouldn't take that long. Also, I never got an answer on my question of the idea of getting quotes from The Complete Guide to Westeros. To clarify, I'm not going to do it, I was just asking if it was a possibility. I think it would be nice if every page started with a quote, as it really improves the appearance of the page. Have to go. iPad needs recharging. Still looking out for quotations around episodes, those really are everywhere. It will be a massive job to remove them all.Ch'vyalthan (talk) 23:07, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, no more incidentals. Can I put in those actor categories when I come back?Ch'vyalthan (talk) 23:17, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

  • First, yes, for future reference for other editors, I think the Complete Guide to Westeros is a good source of quotes, albeit, ones from the actual TV series are preferable - i.e. quotes about Ned Stark should be from the TV series, but if there is no other quote for "Valyria" etc., we'll use the Complete Guide as a second best. The idea being that not everyone bought the Blu Ray box or viewed the Complete Guide on youtube or whatever; we need to be geared towards casual viewers strictly watching only the 10 aired episodes. I didn't point this out sooner...because I don't want to encourage you to contribute to this wiki in any way whatsoever.
  • Second, Gonzalo84 already told you to stop making hour by hour "progress reports" touting how much wonderful work you've done...and instead, you might try doing "actual work".
  • Third, do you comprehend that there's a formal vote to have you banned from this wiki? What purpose is served by launching into a binge of work which you cannot possibly finish before next Tuesday when the final decision is made? Are you trying to finish all of this before next Tuesday, in the hopes that this will "sway our opinion" with your wonderful work? You're a walking disaster area and this wiki will only get back on track once you are removed.
  • Fourth, as I said on your own talk page....THESE were your character notes? Things you read off IMDB and Wikipedia? ANYONE could have done that.
  • Fifth, my heart leaps for joy inside whenever you announce that "my iPad needs recharging" because it means we get a few hours without the distraction of your editing. That, and you're still buffoonish enough to keep pleading "but I'm using an iPad!" as an excuse for either not loading images, or, stopping needed editing half-finished because you're out of charge. These are "explanations" but not "excuses" much the same sense that "I am lazy" would technically be an "explanation" but not an "excuse". you think this wiki is about a TV series, and its thousands of viewers...or about you? WE DON'T CARE WHY YOU'RE TURNING IN BAD WORK, only that you are. Think objectively. Your personal reasons for being physically unable to contribute as well as any other user SHOULD NOT AFFECT US. There isn't some online anti-discrimination law against that....again, if someone came on here and said "I can only use a computer with a keyboard that has all the vowel-keys removed from the keyboard"...THAT WOULD NOT BE A LEGITIMATE EXCUSE. So why should we care if you have an iPad, or if you're banging two rocks together? All that matters is you're turning in bad work.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 23:30, January 24, 2013 (UTC)
