Hi, welcome to Game of Thrones Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Season 3 page.
We welcome all contributions to the Wiki but please be aware of the following simple rules:
1) This wiki is meant for the Game of Thrones TV series and the TV alone. Spoilers from the novels are not permitted at all. Discussion of earlier events in the novels and the use of non-spoiler background material from the novel as regards specific events, characters and places in the TV series are allowed (in the 'In the books' section of an article) but future events cannot be discussed.
2) This wiki has specific permission from HBO's marketing department to use a reasonable number of promotional images and screencaps from the series to illustrate articles. The use of other copyrighted images is not permitted without either specific permission or fair use attributions. For example, this Wiki cannot use Amoka's portrait images or Ted Nasmith's castle pictures as these are copyrighted. In addition, the Wiki is focused on the TV series and TV series alone. Images from other media should be avoided without a very good cause.
House Lannister family treeEdit
Willem and Martyn are actually the great-grandsons of Lord Tytos' brother (not the grandsons), could you please fix the family tree? And keep in mind that these unnamed Lannisters are not "lords".Gonzalo84 (talk) 04:54, April 15, 2013 (UTC)
- As I explained in the episode notes, Robb was exaggerating for dramatic effect; the boys are actually Kevan's younger sons.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 04:59, April 15, 2013 (UTC)
House infoboxes Edit
"Sarsfield" not "Saucefield". When they mention a new character name you should check it against the book records in A Wiki Of Ice and Fire, or, as I use HBO Go, turn on the subtitles for spelling.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 23:33, June 11, 2013 (UTC)
"Line of Succession"Edit
The line of succession for the King of the Andals and the First Men is in dispute and not very clear, though the "Royal Inheritance" section on the society page does explain this. As for the King of the Iron Islands, as I explained in a long post for the "In the books" section, the ironborn haven't come up with a new succession system; and within the narrative of the books, the Greyjoys argue amongst themselves who Balon's heir is. Yara is older than Theon but is a woman, while Balon's younger brothers Euron and Victarion also want in on the action - Euron is older than Victarion but has been exiled from the islands for his crimes, while Victarion is commander of the Iron Fleet.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 00:12, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
Vote for new BureaucratsEdit
The Wikia Staff said that even though Werthead is stepping down voluntarily, we need to have an open vote to determine who will now be promoted to Bureaucrat status. Please check it out: http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Vote_for_New_Bureaucrats --The Dragon Demands (talk) 20:38, October 13, 2014 (UTC)
Hello, I'm trying to get some census data about our editors:
Have you read the books? If not, do you plan to read them eventually? If you are reading them, did you already start reading them before the TV series started, or did you start after the TV show began? If after they began, have you: finished yet? still trying to finish? Or, you're intentionally only reading one book at a time to match the pace of the TV series? (the last of which is really not a good idea because a given TV season will often pull a chapter or two from the next book, i.e. Jaime and Brienne at the end of Season 2 were the start of book 3).
Are you male, female, more complex description? I kind of assumed male but you don't talk about yourself much.
What part of the world do you hail from? (It helps to know what airing dates everyone is working with, USA vs UK vs Australia, etc.) If you don't want to say a specific city just give a state/province, or just a country (if United Kingdom might help to specify what sub-region, England/Scotland/Wales/Northern Ireland).
Starring cast appearancesEdit
Hi, I retitled this page "Starring cast appearances" to make it more clear.
Moreover I want to deleted these older subpages to consolidate:
(one for each of the four seasons, change the 4 to a 1, 2, 3 in the link)
Please take what info you need from them and tell me when it's okay to delete them.
Please read this:
This needs help.
Simplifying the opening intro paragraphs. "Major" character was subjective (i.e. Loras) - unfortunately even if we made a list we all voted on of "important non-starring cast members who are more than a recurring minor character"....new editors would have no way of being informed about this.
So we need to change the descriptions to be a bare-bones:
"Arya is a major character played by starring cast member Maisie Williams"
"Loras is a recurring character played by Finn Jones"
"Lannister Soldier #2 is a character played by John Smith"
We were wasting too much time arguing over the finer points.
Keep the descriptions of people who got promoted to a minimum, i.e. "Ramsay Snow is a major character. He started as a recurring character in Season 3 but became a Starring cast member in Season 4, etc."
"Is" means "now", contemporary to airdate. Gwendoline Christie "is" a starring cast member, even though she wasn't in Season 1, and wasn't starring in Season 2.
Selected guest stars revision Edit
Hi. I've re-adjusted the selected guest stars page to the way it was before, I thought I should let you know. The selected guest starring section is specifically meant to be arranged by the nr. of episode a recurring cast member features in. The location/credit order, which is used by the regular wiki, is confusing and illogical due to the fact that:
(A) the credit order changes from episode to episode,
(B) the location of a character when he/she first appears does not really mean anything, nor is it helpful due to the fact that the character can spend the entirity of a season in a different locale, and
(C) from a production standpoint/behind the scenes standpoint like the cast page, the region in which a character appears is completely unimportant.
