William Simpson is a comic artist from Northern Ireland. He started off working in British comics anthologies such as Warrior and 2000 AD, and has written for such comics as Batman, Judge Dredd, and Hellblazer.

In the 2000s, his career turned towards working as a movie storyboard artist, on films such as Reign of Fire and City of Ember.

Simpson is the leader Storyboard Artist for Game of Thrones. Much of his work on the series involves sketching out an episode director's vision into an initial comic strip version for visual reference. Simpson has also contributed to the concept design of various things in the series, such as creature design for the dragons, direwolves, and particularly the Three-eyed raven.

William Simpson created the artwork that features in the Complete Guide to Westeros.
